Electropolishing

Electropolishing is an advanced industrial metal finishing process also known as electrochemical or electrolytic polishing that is used as an alternative to abrasive polishing methods. It has the advantage of frequently being less tedious and more intensive than customary mechanical finishing. Electropolishing is frequently contrasted with electroplating, another technique for changing a metallic item’s surface. Notwithstanding, rather than adding layers of material to the surface, it draws out the impurities at the surface. This leaves the surface smooth, profoundly cleaned, and liberated from burrs – unlike with chrome-plating or comparable completing methods, and the electro-polished finish doesn’t chip or strip away.
